NEW AND INNOVATIVE VENUE FOR CONTEMPORARY ART ON MADISON AVENUE IN NEW
YORK
Mark Fletcher/Art Management
in conjunction with VBH Gallery is proud to announce an innovative program
of contemporary art to be exhibited at the VBH flagship store at 940 Madison
Avenue in New York.
VBH Gallery is located at the intersection of Madison Avenue and East
74th Street in the former Chase Manhattan Bank building, which has been
recently renovated in a design collaboration between the internationally
recognized interior architect, Peter Marino, and Stephen Learner of New
York. The project was conceived Bruce Hoeksema, as a showcase of his fine
jewelry and leather goods in an environment that bridges the distinction
between a public and domestic space and to a standard thus unrealized
in a retail setting. Within this innovative retail context, Mark Fletcher/Art
Management has been asked to initiate an ongoing program to exhibit the
work of leading contemporary artists. The inaugural installation includes
work by such esteemed artists as Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Alexander Calder,
Lucien Freud, Joseph Albers, Peter Halley and Philip Taaffe.
This program significantly raises the standards the emerging trend of
the marriage of contemporary art and culture within retail fashion setting
and provides the public with a venue to view contemporary art within one
of the city’s most innovative and well-designed spaces. Opening
hours are Monday through Saturday, 11:00am through 7:00pm.
